Building the Tiny House

A Nicely Warmed Tiny House

The house warming party was lovely. Great people, great food and much fun. I think we enjoyed roasting mini marshmallows over the burn barrel about the best - although the tiny cups and tiny hats were a hit too.

I'm afraid I didn't take many photos myself during the party - since I was busy having fun. If you were there and took some photos, let me know if you'd like to share those.

Thanks everyone who came!

Prepping for the house warming

I've been working REALLY hard to get things a bit more finished before the Tiny House Warming party set for Saturday, Oct. 10th. It's been a crazy scramble - but I'm feeling pretty good about where we're at.

We built some great new front steps, re-did the inside siding WITH the insulation in, finished the electrical wiring including the fancy, schmanzy wiring box thingy (see pic above), built out a bookshelf and gotten a little bit of trim up here and there.

Now it's time to focus on the silly stuff! My mom sent me a box labeled "Tiny House Mini Bar"  which gave me a good laugh this morning. I've also located tiny hats. Folks are having a good time planning tiny foods to make and bring too. I've heard of teeny-weenies in a blanket being made, baby pizzas and I'm bbqing little, tiny, chickens. What fun!?!

So - if you find yourself in the Seattle area on Sat. Oct. 10th - feel free to drop in anytime after 3pm. There will be a bonfire to stay warm, tiny foods to eat and a tiny house to admire ;) (Contact me here for the address).

Moving day - tucked into her new home

We moved "Larry" to his new home today. Tucked away amongst the trees. It's as if the space was just made for it!

It seems my friends were the butt-end of a prank and we found their front yard had been tee-peed last night. It was like party decorations! ha!

It took some real tricky moves to get it all tucked into the corner we wanted it to be. My friend Morgan brought his come-alongs and we used the trees to slowly drag it into place.

Now I'll be finishing up my projects inside (plumbing for instance) and preparing to move in.

All very exciting!
